Twins bring up Slowey for Friday start, send down DePaula (AP)
The Minnesota Twins recalled right-hander Kevin Slowey from Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday in advance of his major league debut. The 23-year-old Slowey will start Friday night at Oakland, taking Ramon Ortiz’s place in the rotation. Ortiz was sent to the bullpen after a series of bad starts this month.

The Twins pieced together another small-ball comeback, leaving Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen a little jealous — and mostly furious. Torii Hunter’s four-pitch, bases-loaded walk forced in the winning run with two outs in the ninth inning and sent the surging Twins past the struggling White Sox 7-6 on Wednesday for a three-game sweep.

Twins 4, Blue Jays 2 (AP)
Carlos Silva broke a four-game losing streak, Justin Morneau homered and drove in three runs, and the Minnesota Twins defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 4-2 on Sunday. Silva (3-5) allowed six hits and struck out three in 7 1-3 innings, and the Twins won at home for just the third time in eight games. A.J.

Blue Jays 9, Twins 8, 13 innings (AP)
Lyle Overbay drove in four runs, including a two-out, two-strike single in the top of the 13th inning that gave the Toronto Blue Jays a 9-8 victory over the Minnesota Twins on a back-and-forth Saturday night. Overbay’s two-run homer in the first greeted Twins starter Ramon Ortiz, who had another rough outing.
